- General Election's catchphrase
Cinderella Girl General Election (シンデレラガール 選抜総選挙) was an annual voting event for the mobile games THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls and, starting from the sixth election onwards, THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Starlight Stage. Players with a verified account (Cinderella Girls) or have cleared the second-panel missions, as well as are above Producer Level 20 (Starlight Stage) are able to cast their vote on the Cinderella Girls characters to be ranked. Ranking is determined by popular vote, and results are shown in the top 50 places. These rankings define an idol's (called candidates) standings of popularity for the year, with the idol in the number one place taking the title of "Cinderella Girl". Idols who rank high have certain benefits such as new cards, CD appearances, and occasionally even voice actresses.
There have been ten "General Elections", each with Preliminary and Final result rankings (with the exception of the Ninth General Election onwards which had no Preliminary results) and three "Voice Idol Auditions", with the intent of voicing the winning unvoiced idol(s). The first General Election only ranked places 1 to 30, while the rest ranked places 1 through 50.
Its format has been currently replaced by Stage for Cinderella.
The 765 Production idols (all 765PRO ALLSTARS idols and Million Live! idols Julia and Shizuka Mogami), the 876 Production idols, the Trainers, and Chihiro Senkawa cannot be voted for. In addition, the Korean exclusive idols are not eligible as well.

There will also be a special event featuring all the previous "Cinderella Girl" winners including this year's "Cinderella Girl". Like last year, there would be no song featuring the top 3 idols of each category and no preliminary results published for the general election and voice idol audition.

Unlike last year's, Round 2 also listed units ranked 4th until 30th, but all of them except for the top three are unnamed in the game's result page. Twenty five of thirty units are officially named and recognized in Mobamas/Deresute events prior to this election. Three formerly unrecognized units at that time of the results (6th, 17th, 20th) were later officially recognized in a Mobamas event (see notes). The rest of them were unnamed pairings developed within the brand's supplementary lores like commus/manga/anime/etc. (24th, 30th).

Twenty-three idols have gained a voice from ranking high enough in the elections as of 2019:
- Karen Hojo became the first idol to achieve over 15 million votes in Cinderella Girls Election (16,926,974 votes), by which she won the 9th Cinderella Election. This has yet to be repeated nor beaten as of 2021.
- Worth noting that other idols ranking in the top 5 in the 9th election also went above 5 million.
- Syuko Shiomi is the only idol to gain a voice from becoming a Cinderella Girl. It will be unlikely for this feat to be repeated due to the official introduction of Voice Idol Audition beginning from 2020
- Airi Totoki was unvoiced when she won the 2012 election but did not receive a voice as a result of appearing in the yearly ranking CD; This is due to the concept of yearly election album series and giving voices to top rank idols only began in 2013, with Anastasia placing 2nd at the time and gaining a voice to sing Kagayaku Sekai no Mahou. Airi would be voice either way through THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA MASTER 013 Totoki Airi.
- This also makes Airi the only Cinderella Girl without an election-based song and unit.
