STAGE 1

At the "2011 Dance Festival" idols dance across stage, all smiling and shining with the exception of one girl on the end. Chihaya Kisaragi stands at the end of the row with a dissatisfied frown on her face. After the performance, the idols talk with their producers in the dressing room. As they clean up, a young girl runs over to Chihaya. She explains that she is a big fan, but doesn't understand why she isn't smiling during performances. Kyouhei Suruga then walks up and chastises Chihaya for her behavior and the fact that while she sings and dances well, her smile is unlikely to be seen onstage. The idol quickly remarks that even though she was scowling, she was also focusing on the dance routine she had just learned. Kyouhei suggests trying to smile naturally and Chihaya fails to do so. However as a last resort, the man whips out a pair of Groucho glasses, making his idol laugh. Seeing her laugh causes the other idols in the room to laugh, but makes Chihaya embarrassed and she immediately returns to frowning.

Back at the 765PRO office, the producer sighs as he talks with Kotori Otonashi. Chihaya refuses to speak to him for tricking her into laughing, until he calls her "hard-headed". Kyouhei angrily brings up the fact that she isn't trying to be an idol, to which she retorts that all she wants to do is become a world renowned singer. Yayoi Takatsuki interrupts the argument by happily offering tea, and Chihaya makes an angry offhand comment about becoming her producer. The man calls her out for being selfish and childish by saying this. The argument quickly escalates until Yukiho Hagiwara and Mami Futami walk into the room. Kotori explains they're fighting like they normally do. Mami takes the opportunity to hug Kyouhei and asks if they're having a "bulldog or chihuahua fight". This sets Yukiho crying and Yayoi cheering. Before her producer can do anything, Chihaya coldly walks out of the room to do some vocal training. Mami and Yayoi ask if they're okay, to which Kyouhei admits not. In the background, Kotori gets a call.

Chihaya wanders to a park to sing. Nearby are a set of buildings with a monitor, displaying the hot topic show: "My Favorite". Ryuuguu Komachi's producer, Ritsuko Akizuki, is currently being interviewed on their recent success. She explains that they focus in three areas, Vocal, Dance and Visual, as well as her plans to continue her own idol career. The idol stops watching the broadcast and begins to feel depressed. Suddenly, a nearby bush quakes and makes a loud noise. A terrified Chihaya finds Miki Hoshii awaking from a nap in a bush. The blond explains that she fell asleep because it was a warm day and the lawn was soft. Chihaya tells Miki she was practicing, but the other girl notes that she doesn't look happy. She eventually explains that she's worried about her career and how she should treat her producer. Miki exclaims that she'll take him if Chihaya doesn't want him, and the older girl agrees.

As soon as she utters the words, Kyouhei runs up to them and exhaustively tells Chihaya that a singing job for a live broadcast opened up. The two run to the office, where the producer explains that an idol had gotten sick, leaving a hole in a live program. The girl is helped into a Luxury costume by Kotori, who tells her this is her big chance. Kyouhei and Chihaya then head off in a traffic nightmare to rush to the job: a music program's guest corner. Once on the way, Chihaya practices singing in the car. Kyouhei notes that she hasn't been given any time to prepare, or even rehearse. He quips that live broadcasts are difficult to perform in and unhelpfully tells her to just deal with any nervousness. The idol doesn't even realize he is talking to her as she focuses on her song, and completely ignores the fact that the car isn't moving. Traffic has been stopped due to an accident. Kyouhei decides to give up the job when he finds that they won't get there in time. Chihaya realizes that her dream is on the line, and dashes out of the car towards the broadcast. As she runs, Chihaya trips in her high heels and is about to slam into the asphalt face first when Kyouhei catches her. Before she can react, her producer picks her up and runs with her wedding style through the middle of traffic. As he runs, he claims he doesn't want her to get sweaty by the time they get to the broadcast and then notes that she's still heavy to carry despite being so flat.

At the broadcast, Chihaya stands onstage and performs as how Kyouhei suggested: as an idol with a smile. The next day, Chihaya and Kyouhei go racing off to another job after the producer mixed up the starting time. Their antics are only just beginning...
