Character Description

Gentle and quiet as a snowflake, Hijiri is a young girl who loves the snow and caroling. She is largely associated with the winter holiday season, and is influenced by the snowy night theme.

The Producer scouted Hijiri on a silent winter night. He finds her sitting alone on a bench, singing with a perfectly clear voice, which immediately catches his attention. He approaches her and praises her for her voice. She seems pleased, and when the Producer asks her if she'll continue singing, she's surprised and excited that he wants to listen to her song. She obliges and continues singing, her voice echoing throughout the night. The Producer expresses that she should become an idol so that many people can hear her song, but she's nervous at first, unsure if she can. After some encouragement, she agrees, saying she wants to make her singing reach out and wants to try her best to make it happen.

Hijiri is a very soft-spoken and shy young girl. She's relatively introverted and gets nervous easily. Traveling alone makes her worried, and she was afraid to go to her first lesson because she was unfamiliar with the city the office is in. She loves quiet places. Hijiri is not a very chatty person and has a very slow way of speaking. When she's around people she doesn't know she speaks in a very quiet voice, if at all. Initially, she also struggles with speaking in front of crowds and gets easily overwhelmed. Hijiri often doubts her own abilities and her own inner strength. She believes she's only good at singing and that's it, often brushing off her achievements in other areas because of her own self doubt and often struggles with battling her nerves. Through becoming and idol she's learned to become more confident, motivated by a promise she made with the Producer and wanting to be able to work hard so that many people hear her song and so that the Producer's hard work doesn't go to waste.

Hijiri adores singing. Her voice has been described to be a wonderfully clear soprano, and her singing is so beautiful it once attracted the attention of multiple passersby solicitors trying to get her to join their own labels. She really likes singing chorus and classical music and gets really into music show related work. She used to be part of a choir and often sang hymns in church. She also has an interest in instruments, particularly piano and organ. Recently, she's started taking guitar lessons from Kanna Ariura. While most of the people at her school don't know (or notice) that she's an idol, her friends have told her she seems to be having fun all the time now, demonstrating how her work as an idol has had a positive effect on her.

Hijiri is most frequently associated with Eve Santaclaus as fellow Christmas-related idols, and Clarice as choir/hymn related idols. The three of them form the unit Holy Night Wish. Additionally, Otoha Umeki and Kanna are often seen with her because of their enjoyment of music as well.
