THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Self-Introduction
Fuka is a bookworm who aspires to become a successful novelist if her idol career flourishes. She spends most of her time writing. If she doesn’t succeed as an idol, she will likely turn towards becoming a librarian. She is rumored to be an excellent chess player, and uses the game as a motif on some of her cards. Fuka always wears glasses, no matter the card form.
Fuka first meets the Producer when he spots her gazing at an idol recruitment poster. He asks her if she’s interested, and she panics, ending up apologizing and running away. The next day, the Producer sees her staring at the posters again. He tries to ask her about it again, and she ends up running away like she did the day prior. On the third day, he manages to actually talk with her. Fuka apologizes for looking at the posters, which confuses the producer. She says apologizing constantly is a bad habit of hers. She also says that it’s quite ridiculous for her to even think about becoming an idol in general. The Producer assures her that isn’t true, and ends up giving her his business card, which causes Fuka to panic and run away once again. This time, the Producer follows her, and she apologizes for running away. Fuka asks if it’s alright for him to turn someone like her into an idol, that she’s not sure if she can actually be one. The Producer assures her that he can, and Fuka hesitantly accepts.
Fuka is an anxious girl with low self-esteem that, as previously mentioned, is almost always apologizing- which she’s trying hard to improve and do less of. She is very, very easily flustered, slightly forgetful, and is often doubting herself and her own good traits. Perhaps her one respite from all this is her adoration of books and novel writing. She loves to dream up stories of all varieties- though she seems to have a fondness for fantasy stories, in particular. She’s always looking for a variety of inspiration in her daily life. Another interest sparked by her becoming an idol, she’s expressed a lot more curiosity in fashion and she’s gained a bit more bravery in terms of the clothes she wears since becoming an idol as well.
Despiteher anxiety and low self-esteem, Fuka truly does want to challenge herself and works hard to change and bloom so she can become her ideal self, even going out of her way to ask the PRoducer for jobs that are outside of her typical image to challenge herself. Even when she’s not the best at something, she puts in as much effort as she can to try and improve, despite the doubts she has about herself. While she’s still naturally quite anxious, she’s come to accept that struggling sometimes, be it when writing or being an idol, is okay.
Fuka has truly become the glittering princess she wrote about when she was small, and while she still doesn’t have the most confidence on stage, her journey (like releasing a photobook showing off her off-stage self) has shown her fans truly like her for who she is at her core. Since becoming an idol, Fuka has gained a lot more friends than she had before, and she’s even become somewhat of a teacher figure for the younger idols, having helped them study for school on multiple occasions.
One of her closest friends she’s gained since becoming an idol is without a doubt Saori Okuyama, the two of them forming the unit Purely Twin. The two of them work hard together and consult one another on their journeys to gain more courage when it comes to things like fashion.
In the tie in Cinderella Girls Theater skits, Fuka is depicted as being a shy young woman. She receives a pair of bear ears as a present from Itsuki Manabe and tries to find redeeming factors in Haruna Kamijo. She seems to have found a friend in Saori Okuyama, as the two believe it to be difficult to gain courage from new hairstyles or outfits. She does calm down enough to have fun with Kai Nishijima and Arisa Mochida while at a job near the sea.
Fuka first appeared on January 31st, 2012 as one of the new idols that were part of the "Hito wa Hito, Watashi wa Watashi" Comp Gacha in the game.
