Devil Angel or Maou Angel is a unit that appears in THE iDOLM@STER relations manga. Reika Tougouji, Rin Asahina, and Tomomi Sanjou are the members of this unit and Mikokoro Sano joined them for THE iDOLM@STER GRAND PRIX. This unit was created by Reika after she and her friends did their best, but were betrayed by the popular unit Setsugetsuka.

History

As Lucky Angel

Three years prior to the events of THE iDOLM@STER relations, the unit "Lucky Angel" was rising in popularity. Reika could have used her family's resources to make a name for herself, but she did everything on her own power and even took part time jobs to get enough money to buy costumes. While Reika admitted that it was all her fault that Rin and Tomomi had to work towards their dreams, all of the Lucky Angel members said they didn't regret a thing.

Around the same time, another popular unit, Setsugetsuka, was rising in fame. Reika, a fan of the unit, was thrilled to find that Lucky Angel would be performing with her heroes. However, the members of Setsugatsuka burned her dreams to the ground when they were found to have cheated their way to the top. Calling Lucky Angel's members twerps and eyesores, the unit members admit that they didn't care at all about their fans, and instead only cared about how many "fools can dance to their beat".

Unable to deal with the shock of her heroes' behavior, Reika reacted badly to the event. When she reveals she is part of the Tougouji family, the other idols plead to change their ways but to no avail. Reika, Tomomi, and Rin decide to disband the unit and reform it as "Devil Angel" to prove to the world how evil idols are.

It is noted that their music during this time was very fun to listen to and widely liked by many people.

As Devil Angel

After their reform into "Devil Angel", the unit cheated their way into a high ranking. While still below Chihaya Kisaragi's level, they plan to crush her and the other members of the same agency. Devil Angel steals the image of the unit D-Love and hires a unit, Red Shoulder, to take down the BLACK PRINCESS unit. They also cause trouble for Idol Egg, Melt 'Chu Up!, and Miki Hoshii's careers. All the while, the idols keep their sugary facades, even when Chihaya calls their current music depressing.

However, Reika, Rin and Tomomi are nervous about the threat of Chihaya's popularity, so they add the former legendary idol Mikokoro Sano to their unit. The newcomer only joined them for THE iDOLM@STER GP, and under the condition that the retirement home she volunteered at would get a good donation. The Tougouji idols put slander in magazines and steal jobs from 765 Production, but to no avail. Devil Angel loses the competition because the idols of their rival agency truly shone onstage. Mikokoro, after explaining that their old music sounded very nice, drops out of the unit to continue her solo career. Iori Minase, a former friend of Reika, asks if they will continue being idols. Devil Angel quickly replies they will, but they'll play fairly.
