142's, also known as Cute Me and the 142's and later revised into Cute Me, Scary Me, Delicious Self and the 142's, is an idol unit appearing in Cinderella Girls and Starlight Stage. It consists of the idols Sachiko Koshimizu, Syoko Hoshi, and Koume Shirasaka.
History
The 142's first appeared as a rival unit during the 1st Dream LIVE Festival event on June 17th, 2013 in the original mobile game.[1] They would go on to make infrequent appearances and eventually receive their own event and song in the form of Orange Time in Starlight Stage on September 20th, 2020.[2]
Unit Description
A unit formed with the concept of each member being 142cm tall. Beyond their similar heights, the 142's at a glance consist of unique personalities that heavily differ from one another. During their formation, Sachiko was confused by their concept, since they didn't have much in common. However, the unit eventually developed a close friendship with each other. A frequent occurrence involves Sachiko unwittingly getting wrapped up in her unit's antics, which range from unusual to frighteningly bizarre. Despite sometimes being at odds with Koume and Syoko's quirks, Sachiko truly cares for them. During a search for new potential 142cm members, Sachiko clears up a misunderstanding her friends had over their unit name: she isn't the only cute one, and the other two aren't her followers. Instead, they all stand alongside each other as people who are both cute and 142cm (although Sachiko claims she is still the cutest amongst them).[3] Koume and Syoko value Sachiko in turn, and were even willing to do anything to grow 1 cm taller when Sachiko was mistakenly thought to have grown to 143cm.
During the events of Orange Time, the unit decides to change their full unit name (Cute Me and the 142's) into something that reflects each of their personalities. Eventually they revise it into Cute Me, Scary Me, Delicious Self and the 142's. Although Anzu Futaba calls this too long, ultimately their name simply boils down to 142's.[4]

Trivia and Fan Culture
- As their unit name was never spoken aloud, Japanese fans were unsure how to officially pronounce the '142's' portion of their name. It wasn't until the Orange Time event in 2020 that the official pronunciation was revealed to be いちよんにーず (Ichiyonniizu).
- Despite changing their full unit name within the story of Orange Time, subsequent appearances in the Cinderella Girls mobage still have them retain the name of Cute Me and the 142's.
